Ramblas Barcelona

Las Ramblas and the Barri Gotic

Las Ramblas and the Barri Gotic are one of the places with more visitors, both during the day and night.

Las Ramblas is a set of secrets with a long tree-lined avenue that begins at the Plaça Catalunya to the port. As we walk we enjoy some landmarks of modern architecture in the city.

La Boquería, well worth a visit and we can find wonderful places of meat, fish, fruit and even the more exotic products, all first quality but not very cheap.

Teatre Liceu Barcelona

The Gran Teatre del Liceu was built in the nineteenth century, is one of the great European theaters. It has been completely renovated a few years ago the result of a devastating fire in 1994. It can be visited through guided tours.

Along the Ramblas we can find the Barri Gotic. In this area there are wonderful places with bars, restaurants and major institutional buildings of the city. The city of Barcelona and the Palau de la Generalitat, in Renaissance style, as well as the Cathedral entrance is free.

Sagrada Familia

La Sagrada Familia

The Temple of the Sagrada Familia is the most important work of the artist Antoni Gaudí. This is a catholic church started in 1882 and is still under construction.

After more than one hundred years, the temple continues with the only thing left Gaudí after his death some drawings and a plaster model. More than two million tourists a year visit this temple that Gaudí designed for a capacity of 13,000 faithful.

Agbar Tower was built to House the new headquarters of the Barcelona water company. Opened in 2005, is phallic. The 34 plants were illuminated for a few hours with different colors thanks to the 4,000 led bulbs installed throughout the front.


Montjuic and Tibidabo Barcelona

The parks of Montjuic and Tibidabo represent the two highest points of the city and each one requires at least one day to visit each one of them. In Montjuic are the best museums of the city and the facilities of the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, a castle guarding the city from the top, called the Spanish Village, a real scale model houses in all regions Spain and the former amusement park Montjuic, which has become a public park.

A walk from the Plaça Espanya leads to Avenida Maria Cristina where you will find the Magic Fountain, a spectacle of color, music and water acrobatics. This show is shown every half hour from 19:00 to 21:00 on Fridays and Saturdays from April to October and from 20:00 to 23:30 from Thursday to Sunday from May to September.


The Tibidabo is the highest part of the Collserola at 512 meters. It is a quiet residential area, with large mansions between nature, but in its upper part has one of the oldest amusement parks in Europe, and the first in Spain. In it we find everything from roller coasters to a famous house of terror and many more attractions.

Barcelona beaches

In Barcelona you can find endless beaches equipped with all facilities and well maintained. It is great on beaches during the summer crowds are large. Going down the Rambla del Poble Nou, arrived at a beach called Playa del Bogatell. In the afternoons open bars with chairs and torches to take your glass to the sea and relax, plus you can rent kayaks, surf ... the beach is very active. North of the Plaza Catalunya, Paseo de Gracia, Rambla de Catalunya and the Avenida Diagonal, find the best shops of international brands of clothes, leather goods and jewelry. In the streets of Borne, are the designer items, which has gained popularity since the late 90's. Comercial centers as La Illa, La Maquinista, Les Glories and Diagonal Mar where we find a lot of shops.

In the "Mercat del Encants" items are Used or second hand, located in the Plaza de las Glorias. Open every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. On Sunday morning in the Mercado de San Antonio, stops are located where people buy and sell books, records, stamps and collectibles.
